PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT
This is the question I get asked most: what camera do I use to take my pictures. I have tried time and again to switch to my iPhone, given it’s ease, portability and convenience. But, despite my desires to pack efficiently, nothing compares to the photos I get from my Canon camera. The photo quality and editing capabilities make lugging this hefty thing around worth it. The lens shared here is the one I use 99% of the time, given it’s range in both up close portrait shots of my family as well as sweeping landscape photos. I never go without a UV filter (mostly to protect my lens), a couple SD cards and spare batteries. The tripod I take on trips where I imagine I will take many family photos or landscape photos that require longer exposures (or, just when I have spare room in my suitcase).

I always had a desire to edit photos directly off my camera or phone as they often seemed to fall flat. Where was that vibrancy I experienced in real life? I used to spent hours of time editing, meticulously layering in Adobe Photoshop to try to bring a picture back to life. Over the years, this has gotten significantly easier. With presets and AI capabilities, editing photos can now easily be done in batches. My go to is Adobe Lightroom, where I have saved presets for how I like my photos to look and apply them broadly to folders of images.
