When you have a car, why not pop into the 6th smallest country in the world?
We spent the night and a day in Liechtenstein.
Liechtenstein feels tiny, and we drove the whole thing in under an hour. There is basically one main road that takes you through the main towns. On top of that, 2/3 of the country is mountainous, which makes it feel even smaller…but also gives it some pretty alpine scenery.
It’s kind of a quirky little country… the country is named after the people who purchased it (the only country like this in the world) and this monarchy is the richest in Europe (surpassing even the English monarchy). The capital has a typical castle perched on a hill overlooking the whole city… but in this case, the prince actually still lives here so no visitors are allowed.
I somehow feel like this country is in its own little world!
